I am very new to yoga. Desi is my only instructor. I look forward to every session she has scheduled. I love that she is able to hold one class but teach many different levels at the same time. I am told by my co-workers and fellow yogis that this is an impressive challenge for an instructor. I find that even though we just have Desi’s class once a week, it’s still very beneficial to me. I find that I have more energy, and recently I am not even getting as sore (believe it or not!!) I am more flexible, which is shocking because I’ve never been flexible in my life. I am excited when I recognize the terms of the different poses Desi has us try. I feel like a real yogi now because of Desi. I recently discovered that I love the guided meditation classes that Desi teaches. I was amazed that 35 minutes’ worth of her class felt like a true refreshing nap. I am so grateful that the Lake County Government has allowed us to continue with our lunchtime yoga and has extended it to once a week. Sometimes my co-workers are not available to attend yoga class, but I still come by myself because I know I will feel better afterwards. My office personnel encourages new employees to join the classes. Recently I have noticed our class has grown a lot, which is good. There were times when there were just two of us that showed up, but Desi held regular class anyway because she is a true professional that is great at her job. I am honored to be learning from her. When I first became pregnant, I learned that prenatal yoga was a good way to get exercise during pregnancy. I had no prior experience with yoga, but I am so glad I gave it a try. Desi cultivates a warm and open environment where I felt comfortable no matter what my experience level was. The physical aspects of yoga were easy to learn, and Desi leads sessions based on what you need most at the time of each class, giving it a personalized feel. Previously, I have never felt comfortable meditating, but even this was made to feel easy and accessible and really helped me feel safe mentally. Prenatal yoga prepared my body for birth and helped combat back pain, as well as made me more mindful and feel less anxious. After my daughter was born, I went back to doing yoga as soon as I was cleared to do so. Desi has been so accommodating and patient with Mommy and Me yoga where i can bring my baby with me. It has really been a light in my life during all the ups and downs of parenthood. I would recommend Prenatal yoga and Mommy and Me yoga to anyone who is pregnant or who has children. Desi is an amazing instructor and will make a difference in the lives of your whole family!
